HDA 2010 – 8th & 9th May

Hi All,

This is just a quick update about the Huntings Disease Association 2010.

I have been asked to ask everyone to try and be at the Fayre (which is at Buckfastleigh Race Course this year) by 9.30 on the Saturday. Also please can as many of you as possible supply Registration Plate Numbers for the vehicle you will be attending in, we need this to make it easier on the security that will be on site and at the gates.

Just a reminder that camping on the Friday and Saturday night is free and there is entertainment on both nights along with a beer tent.

If you are attending and are from a club (other than Plymouth) please do bring a banner along to advertise your club.

Also please do pass on the inform to fellow racers, club members and RC Enthusiasts as this event is all about rasing money for charity and raising awareness for the great hobby/sport we all know as RC Car Racing.

HDA 2010 – 8th & 9th May

After the great success of the Huntington's Diesease Assoication Fayre last year at Exeter race course, we have been asked back to do another weekend of racing. This year the event is being held at Buckfastleigh is going to be the same setup as last year.

On the Friday night this yar there is a wedding reception that is open to all campers and on the Saturday there will be other entertainment. Camping is free and open Friday night and Saturday night.

Last year we (the drivers that attended from different clubs) rasied £130 for HDA after covering the cost of the trophies, this year it would be great to break the £200 mark for them. To do this we need help from everyone and the way to help is come along to race with others. After the great success of the Huntington's Diesease Assoication Fayre last year at Exeter race course, we have been asked back to do another weekend of racing.

The Racing is going to be on the following set up:-

  • Class run will be 1/10th, 1/8th Buggy, Truggy and 1/5th. If you are unsure of what class you will run in, do not panic we WILL find a class for you to enter.
  • Fees for the event are £10 a class for the 2 days or £6.00 for just one day per Class.
  • Camping is Free, Definately open to Camping Friday & Saturday Night.
  • Saturdays racing is Qualifiers all day.
  • Sunday is Qualifiers in the morning and Finals in the afternoon.
  • Trophies for 1st,2nd, 3rd

End of the Winter Championship

Well as a lot of you will know it is now the end of the winter championship with most the prize positions still being competed for, and as a result this produced some very close racing thoughout the day.

As lots of people are so very very keen to find out where they finished the points will not be published until the prize giving, this will take part after the caravan racing so do attend to find out who won what and find out where you finished in the running.

And on that note do not forget caravan racing is on Sunday 31st January and all monies rasied are for a good cause.

Merry Xmas To All

May we, The Plymouth RC Committee, take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

May all your wishes come turn, we hope that you get the cars you want, those important spares arrive, those bling bling upgrades arrive and most importantly are informing all your friends that are getting cars for Xmas to come and join in the fun we have.

And a quick note before I go is to remind everyone the track is closed on Sunday 20th December.

Merry Christmas 1 and All.

Caravan Racing

Well the time is ticking away to the great day of racing we call Caravan Racing!!! It is good to see that there have been already a couple of attempts attending the track to being tested. These range from basic shoe boxes with wheels, to full suspension version, there is even a school getting involved.

There are 2 question that keep getting asked about it so I will asnswer them again now for everyone.

When is it??  The Race is on Sunday 31st January 2010

What are the Rules?? The caravan has to be a minimum of the same length  of the towing vehicle if not longer. The caravan has to be securly attached so it does not come of while racing.

Some people has shown at interest to do a demolition derby at the end of the day but that is purely optional.

So come on everyone, support this great fun event as it is for a truely good cause.

Caravan Racing

caravanAfter the Lost of a great person last month it has been decided that we are going to support the family and hold a race in memort of Tony and raise money for charity as the request of the family.

So we are going to do a charity race with a difference, we are doing a Days Racing with Caravans. This was because his son suggested it one day with his father at the track as they were both ex-banger racers, and they have done this with full size vehicles.

So come on everybody and join in the fun, and to find out more please follow the link below:-

One very common thing we often get asked at the club is how to get the best out of the cars when racing. Regularly we point people towards a section in our forum with a link that is very helpful, however some people do not seem to find it so I am going to post the link here and on the link section on the right.
