Sunday 28th Racing Moved Monday 29th August
Hi All,
Just a quick reminded after discussing it in the forum and and at the track, the electric racing that was due to be on the Sunday 28th August has now been moved to Monday 29th August.
This is to enable our members to attend other events at other tracks to not miss out on the Electric Racing with us and not to be bored on the Monday.
New Nitro & Electric Classes
With the ever growning number of electric cars in all classes we have decided to go with the times and improve the club by splitting apart the Nitro and Electric cars into their own championships.
This is resulting in the one weekend being nitro classes and the following weekend being the electric championships. Every week from 10.00am till 11.45am will be open practice, Booking in will close by 11.30am so drivers meeting at 11.45 and racing underway by 12.00.
Electric Classes are:- Budget Short Course, 1/10th Buggies, 1/8th Buggies, Truggies and Outlaws.
Nitro Classes are:- 1/10th Buggies, 1/8th Buggies, 1/5th Petrols, Truggies and Outlaws.
Fees will remain the same for practice and racing, but to only practice will be £2.00 per person.
Racing will start with the Nitro Championship starting every other weekend from 6th February and Electric Championship starting on 13th February.
See You All There.
Friday Night Electric Racing
After the success last year of running the Friday Night Electric Racing to try and help the BRCA get the Electric SWORDS running we have decided to run the event again this year even though the Electric SWORDS is not happening.
The first Friday we are starting on is 18th June, booking in from 6.30 to 6.45 and racing from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. This will then run for as long as we can over the summer till it becomes too dark to race at night.
The Classes we are running are:-
- 1/18th Open Class
- 1/10th Open Class
- 1/8th Open Class
The timings will be 5 minute qualifiers, 8 minute finals with 3 minutes between races.
Fees will be the same as last year.
Budget Short Course Racing
Well after a lot of talks, discusions and meetings we have started a new class - Budget Short Course Racers.
The rules are simple and as follows:-
- Strada Short Course Car
- No Modifactions aloud apart from the following
- Reciever can be changed to run your own radio
- Any 7.2volt NiMh stick pack can be used
- Battery connectors
- Motor Can be changed, Down to 13 turn as limit on ESC
- Pinion gear
- Diff oil
- Shock Oil
- Water/Mud protectors are aloud
- Bodies can be sprayed/decorated in any fashion but must remain the same shell
- Sunday Racing - 3 qualifiers (6mins) and 1 final (10mins)

Friday Electric Racing
Well the Electric Championship has 1 event left to be raced and there is still a fair amount to race for.
The only thing that is going to have to change for the last race of the season is the time the racing starts, due to the nights getting darker sooner we are going to have to get things underway by about 6.45 as the track is getting dark about 8.30. Saying that though as long as there are no MAJOR problems we still have plenty of time to run the 3 qualifiers and the finals in both classes.
Final note. As most of you will know we have been running the Electric Championship for 2 reasons, first is it is something different to do so we can cater for more racers. The second and in some ways the more important reason for running the Electric Championship was to help the BRCA get the Electric SWORDS up and running again, unfortunately we are the only RC Car Club in the South West that has shown any interest in getting this going again. Watch this space for more information on it.
Friday Night Electric Racing

The drivers showing off their great cars they are about to race at the First Proper Electric Friday
Well we have had our first very successful Friday Night Electric Race with 3 people booked in in the 18th class and an impressive 5 people in the Brushed Class.
What was even better to see was Lisa showing her face racing and showing most the guys how it should be done.
There was some great classic cars attending, these being a Tamiya Bush Devil making a return showing it still had it, a Schumacher Bosscat being driven by our only lady driver, a Team Associated B3 driven by our new member, a 25 year old Kyosho Salute in Pink driven by the Chairman and last but no means least a good old Tamiya Lunch Box - the jokes that were being made about this car were coming out think and fast (and talking about lunch.... mmmm.. I hungry, ha ha ha).
