This is something new we are looking at trying, basically it is going 2 be twice a month at the track, gates open at 6.30, Drivers Meeting at 7.00pm and going till about 9.00pm

The classes we will be running are as followings:-

• 1/18th – No brushless or Lipos, any other mods go.
• Brushed Class – Anything that is using brushed motors and standard NiMh/Nicad batteries, all scales
• Brushless Class – Anything that uses brushless setup, lipos or both.

Costs will be the following:-

• £1.00 per class for Members
• £1.50 per class for Non-Members

Dates to be confirmed so they do not clash with the Plymouth In Door Racing – provisional dates are up.

Our next away day event we have been asked to do is the Think You Can Drive 2009 Show.  Last year the Event was supported by KORT RC but due to TYCD clashing with a couple of event they are doing.

The event is on Sunday 19th July at the Royal Cornwall Grounds, Wadebridge, Cornwall. We will be carrying out a full race day will most if not all classes running and, if enough interest, use it as one of the legs of our championship.

May I take this final opportunity to thank everyone that took part in the event and made it possible.

The final amount we handed over was £110.00 which was accepted with open arms.

Well as the end of day 2 there have been some really good racing, and for a second day the weather was very kind to us.

All day the racing was close with positions changing all the way through, and even the new teams that showed up did well. We did have an unfortunate problem where the computer rebooted half way through the day loosing the results to that point. So to make it fair we raced for an hour then doubled the laps.

At the beginning of the re-run the current leads, Standard Un-Standards, was in last place due to engine problems and second place, The Newcomers, took an early lead. All the way throught the race these two teams battled close with one another. The new team the Optimistics started off strong running their 1/10th Electrics most the time, they did well with the 10 minute run times on batteries which helped make up for the slower speed of the car.

After lots and fun and games, lots of team tactics and some very close passes the end results for the top three teams were:-
1st – Standard Un-Standards
2nd – The New Comers
3rd – The Optimistics
And the winning team for the “Best Themed” Prise was Standard Un-Standards, all the cars they ran were standard cars with un-standard modifactions that they had to make.

Well the first day showed some close and interesting racing, and the most important thing is the rain held off. It was raining most the morning on and off during pratice and even through the 4 minute count down to the start of the race then when the hooter sounded to start the race the rain stopped and the sun came out to play.

The racing saw some close racing and interesting tactics used through the 2 hours for each of the teams to take the lead. There was some great team work going on and the most important thing was a lot of fun was had.

At the end of Day 1 the top three teams are;-
1st – Standard Un-Standards
2nd – The Newcomers
3rd – Lees lonelies

Hi Everyone,

Just a final note before the big event.

Gates open at 10.00am on both days as normal and track opens at 10.30, drivers meeting is at 11.30 with the first race each day on starting at 12.00.

There will be some refreshments at the event, these being cans, crisps, sandwiches, bacon rolls and maybe some other bits.

The trophies for the event have also arrived, and they look A1.

It will be good to see lots of you there rasing money for the resque ponies, they need all the help they can get.

Well it was close fought contest in nearly all the classes, most classes where racing right up to the final on the last Sunday of the Spring Championship.

The result are now all up, and it is good to see the high level of racing seen especially by the new faces. Lets hope that the Summer championship (which starts in May).

The price giving for the Spring Championship will be given out during the price giving at the 2 Hour Endurance.

Congratulations to the winners, you will entered into the Hall of Fame.

Hi All,

A further update on this event, the HDA (Huntingtons Disease Assocition) have donated towards the trophies for the event.

We have also been informed that the ground is open to us from 12.00 (midday) on the Friday to setup the track and systems. So, anyone available to help with this would be much appricated. After the track is set up on the Friday there will be free practice on it.

We do aim to have a couple of jumps around the track to make it a little more interesting for the racers and the spectators alike.

Hi All,

Just a quick update to what is going on.

There have been a fair amount of interest in the event and pleased to also say there is a reasonable interest in the 5th endurance. The only question that has been asked is can the 5th boys have more than one car in a team as some of the drivers do not want others using their car, this is something that is being considered if it means there will be more interest in the 5th endurance.

One thing is for sure, once the event is over on the Sunday there will be some fun events and activities happening for a session relation for all to take part in at no extra cost.

So All that is left to be said is come and join in the fun and if you know of anyone interested then please let them know.
