SWORDS Round 3 Re-Run at Springleaze & Round 5 at Plymouth

Just to remind everyone that Round 3 of SWORDS that was meant to be a Springleaze is being re-run on 24th July at Springleaze and this time the sun has been booked in.

Then on 14th August is Round 5 at Plymouth –  just a head’s up on this, on the same day is the Plymouth Mega Ride so to avoid missing booking in please give a little longer to get to the track. Mega Ride does not start till after booking in closes but there could be a lot more traffic on the roads.

See you all at these events.

SWORDS Round 2 booking in and practise

The track will be open from 12:00 – 16:00 on May 7th for SWORDS booking in and practise.

Booking in for the Sundays SWORDS (8th MAY) is £10.00 per entry as per Torquay. This will allow you to run on Saturday and Sunday.

The track will only be open to SWORDS drivers ONLY. If you want to use the track on Saturday but are not entering SWORDS the fee is still £10.00.

Sunday the Gates will be open from 8.00am for everyone to book in and setup pit tables/area and get ready. No Engines will be allowed to be started before 10.00. Drivers meeting will be at 10.15 with the aim of racing to start at 10.30.

Let’s all make this round as successful as the first round.

Easter Electric Racing Moved to Monday

Hi All,

After the lack of numbers we have had on pass Easter Sundays and the number of people wanting to run on the Bank Holiday Monday the electric racing has been moved over to the Monday and the track will be closed on the Sunday.

It will be good to see lots of you there.

New Nitro & Electric Classes

With the ever growning number of electric cars in all classes we have decided to go with the times and improve the club by splitting apart the Nitro and Electric cars into their own championships.

This is resulting in the one weekend being nitro classes and the following weekend being the electric championships. Every week from 10.00am till 11.45am will be open practice, Booking in will close by 11.30am so drivers meeting at 11.45 and racing underway by 12.00.

Electric Classes are:- Budget Short Course, 1/10th Buggies, 1/8th Buggies, Truggies and Outlaws.

Nitro Classes are:- 1/10th Buggies, 1/8th Buggies, 1/5th Petrols, Truggies and Outlaws.

Fees will remain the same for practice and racing, but to only practice will be £2.00 per person.

Racing will start with the Nitro Championship starting every other weekend from 6th February and Electric Championship starting on 13th February.

See You All There.

Track Maintenance

After the heavy winter we have had this year the track has taken a bit of a hammering, especially with all the frost the track surface does need some work carried out on.

As a result we are doing a 2 day maintenance weekend to do a good track surface repair and general tidy up.

If as many people as possible could attend to lend a hand it would be much appricated to enable to get the track ready for the up and coming SWORDS races plus the new split championshipts for the Nitro and Electric guys.

Work being carried out on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th January.

See you all there even if it is for 30 minutes over the weekend, every little bit helps.

Just a reminder that membership is due for renewal. All membership runs out on 31st December so to prevent your insurance running out please do renew at one of the next 2 championship races.

Do not forget when you join the club the fee also includes the BRCA membership so there is no need to purchase seperate membership.

    • £10 per person in the team
  • Any car goes other than 1/5ths
  • Any mods to cars go
  • All cars (other than 1/18th) do full track
  • Each heat is 2 hours
  • Best 2 hours counts towards Trophies
